Guest armsy Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Hello all you good people. I've asked this before but no one at the time knew the answers to my proplem. The problem is my C600 keep beeping and telling me to delete unused or old items. As I said before all pictures, programs and other stuff is stored on a 2Gb card (which still has over 1.5Gb left unused) If you go to system info in Task Manager it says I have 16.95Mb of storage memory of which 14.25Mb is used. I can't send MMS Messages (cos theres not enough memory) All in all I'm a bit annoyed by the whole thing!! I phoned orange all they suggested was to do a master reset which I did but now after about a month everything is full again. Please help Thanks Armsy

Guest armsy Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I've done all that thanks, and do so on a regular basis. I don't know what to do? Thanks for the advice though Neil
Guest berish Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 i had the same problem for a while and i finally figured it out by just browsing through the phone with resco explorer so that i could see the file sizes. turns out that theres is a file called evtlog.txt in the /storage/windows directory that was a massive 20 mbs!!! so i deleted it and everything was fine. although i did go back every once in a while to delete it again. its kinda strange, i dont know what it does, and it hadnt happened before, i've had this phone for a year now, dunno. anyway, hope this helped.
Guest jcjdoss Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 I've done all that thanks, and do so on a regular basis. I don't know what to do? Thanks for the advice though Neil There is always the proverbial "hammer and duct tape" solution. Hard reset!!!!
Guest Bingo Accent Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Having the same problem. Cleared out every SMS, MMS etc. inbox/outbox/deleted items. Still saying I need to free up space to send an MMS.
Guest armsy Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 Hi its armsy again I'm not doing another Hard reset I lost all my games etc. last time, and I can't find the evtlog file that was mentioned either. like I say I think i'll just give up and not send MMS or other stuff, (it'll be cheaper that way I suppose) Thanks for your advice Neil
Guest BigSid Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Same problem, brand new phone (C600), cannot find file mentioned...no MMS's, emails and only 20 txt's on the phone, already out of space...somebody's gotta know

Guest berish Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Guys, How can I remove "evtlog.txt" file please help because it says that it is a shared file and cannot be deleted... Please help me here, it is a 12MB file and it will be really nice to have it removed... ha! i knew that that was the problem. i tried several things, and the one thing that usually works is to first use a file browser that lets you change the properties, like binarys explorer, and make it so that its not hidden or an archive or read only, and then rename it to whatever.txt , after which you should be able to delete it no problem. what i want to know is why it is doing it, and how to stop it. good luck! Berish
Guest berish Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 dunno if anyone still cares, but i finally got this to stop by simply making the txt file read only. since the file still existed, windows didnt create a new one, and my space issues were solved.
Guest GuyAdams Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Are any of your guys browsing the internet on your phones? If so then your temporary internet files will not be helping. They are saved in Windows\Profiles\Guest\, there are three folders, Temp Internet Files, History and Cookie. Check the properties and see how much is in there, if there is a few MB's then I would suggesting installing Paul's CardCache, you can find it here: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=231188 It will tell Pocket IE to save the files on your memory card instead of on the system memory. Make sure you follow the instructions and clear the Pocket IE files before installing. Thanks
