No notifications and programs want to install to the internal flash

I received my Wizard in the mail yesterday and immediately updated it to the TMobile 2.26.10.2 rom on their support website. After that I synced my contacts/appointments and everything seemed to be fine.

Problem is none of my appointments or tasks are alerting me on their due dates! Is there something I'm missing here? MS Voice Command says that a task is due but the system doesn't play an alarm or put up a dialog.

Edit: I forgot to mention the problem w/ apps installing to the main memory. When I specifically tell them to install to Storage, some go into Main by themselves. I know certain programs are hard-wired to where they go but I would think that things like NewsGrabber and CodeWallet should be able to be installed in either Main or Storage.

Ok, fixed the alerts at least... turns out somehow I had a dozen stalled notifications and deleting them a couple at a time with MemMaid fixed it. After removing the last two, I was knocked out of my chair by the extra-loud notification that T-Mo sets as default playing at the highest system volume.

Regarding programs installing to the wrong storage location - it might be due to the fact that I use the d-pad to move the highlight and may forget to click the action button to tick the bullet. But I've tried installing TomTom a bunch of times and it insists in going to main memory... odd.
