Looking at the small print on their website:

'Web 'n' walk plans:

Compatible handset required.Minimum term contract and credit check applies. Fair use policy applies.

Relax web 'n' walk, Flext web 'n' walk and U-Fix web 'n' walk price plans provide unlimited internet browsing on mobile handsets in the UK. To ensure a high quality of service for all our customers, they are not to be used for other activities such as (but not limited to): modem access for computers, internet based video/audio streaming services, peer to peer file sharing, internet based video download and internet based telephony. If such use is detected, notice may be given, after which network protection controls may be applied which will result in a reduced speed of transmission.'

I'd say that they have changed their tune already. I'm sure it mentioned IM before.

I'm worried with the "but not limited to" bit... I was actually clicking around the T-Mobile site yesterday and some how got to a page which had a table of the three Web 'n' Walk plans... on the Pro and Max packages, there was a tick next to IM, but on the standard package, there wasn't... But now I can't seem to find the page again...

I've emailed T-Mobile, but they haven't replied yet...

Yeah I found that page on T-Mobiles site yesterday too, just been looking for it, but cannot find it.

Anyone got a link? I'm just about to place an order with them but want to make sure I get the right WnW package!

The not 'limited to' just allows them the ability to add others in future. With an explicit statement, they would never be able to enforce a penalty on you. The worst they could do is ask you to stop using it.

The WnW plans changed on monday. I believe IM is now expressly not allowed on the 7.50 basic level, and there is a 1GB cap. Have a look in the News section, there's a long thread about it.

T-Mobile got back to me, and this is exactly what they said - plans changed on monday, and IM is not allowed on the basic

Hmm... I'm one of the lucky(?) ones who bought it (Flext 20 + W'n'W) before the new price plans. I wonder - if I bought it based on a 2Gb limit, are they reducing my plan to a 1Gb limit, and does this constitute a change in the T&Cs...

Their new plans imply that they're expecting a much larger uptake, and they may be stricter in enforcing the limits as a result (assuming they have the capability).
