Guest lil_shawn87 Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 I just got a qtek 9100 and i installed active sync 4.2. There was no problem with the instaling but the problem is after the instalation. my pc cant find my qtek. I tried pretty every usb hub i have. But my also have this old usb psi card. Is this mybe causing the problem? And yes i tried serching the forums for an answer but it didnt work. Please help this poor asian :rolleyes:

Does the computer recognise the 9100 in any way, shape or form? If it does, what it the computer telling you? If it does not... this wouldn't be too good. Maybe try another cable, maybe another computer just to be sure... :(

Maybe try another cable, maybe another computer just to be sure... :rolleyes: It does rercognises it. after the installation i plugged it in and i get a message from xp that there is a new harrdware connected. but active sync just cant find it. I hope this helps

I hope this helps sounds like a firewall issue? Have you got zonealarm or anything similar running? If not check that Windows firewall has allow Activesync in its exceptions

If the computer recognises the device, and there are no faults in Devce Manager, then it would be safe to assume that something is blocking the traffic to and from Active Sync - hence the fact it can not detect your device. Dbl check FIrewall, AV, etc. Alternatively, uncheck the USB - PC advanced connectivity box in Start > Settings > Connections > PC to USB. This will take away the TCP/IP connection, and elimintate firewall as a problem. I think <_<

I also dont have any anti virsus programs so i still dont know whats blocking it.
