C500 Rocker Bar Problem

Evening guys

I have a problem with my C500 and wondered if anyone could help.

I purchased a new fascia kit for my C500 as it was looking a bit shabby an I wanted to jazz it up a bit (being that my C600 is out of commission too at the mo! :rolleyes: )

However, when I had put the phone back together the rocker bar/joystick was acting a little funny. A first it worked prior to me tightenting up the screws to put the chassis back together, now it has stopped working completly!

I have followed the installation instructions to the letter but can only think that there may be a problem with the internals of the phone or rocker bar circuit board. The rocker does respond every now and again but it is inconsistent.

I can't physically see that there is anything wrong with the circuit board either and it wasn't damaged in any way when i was chaning the fascia!

Can anyone help. I'm desperate to get mobile agian and without my trusty C500 I may have to go back into the dark ages and dig out and old Nokia!

Please, please don't make me do this :(

Have you tried taking the phone apart again to see if the case is not sitting correctly?

Sounds like you may have not seated the circuit board correctly when you tightened the screws up.

yeah I've tried that awarner but to no avail!

The rocker bar works without the face on the perfectly well but as soon as I clik it into place then it is completelty dormant. It even works if I lift the facia off the silver chassis slightly (which stretches the keypad ribbon).

Really wanted the up and running again!

Any ideas?
