Guest FonZi Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 Hey! Iam having a problem with network connection. I wan't to get connected to the Internet on my Schools network. It needs somekind of a certificate to gain acces to the network. I have copied the settings from my laptop wich is able to acces the Internet fine. But when i try to connect wit my PPC i get the following error: Server Validation Error The server certificate is issued by an unknown authority I use a Qtek 9000. The settings is as follows: The network uses WEP encryption where the key is automatically provided It uses the IEEE 802.1x network acces control and uses PEAP.. It connects to the network as it should and ask for a username and password wich i enter.. But as soon as i have entered it comes with the error above and disconnects from the network.. I would really be glad if someone could help me .. As it would make my everyday much easier as i don't have to take my laptop with but only my Qtek 9000 to school..
Guest blindrezo Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 (edited) Ok, I did a little digging and it appears that you'd need to disable the certification checking, or download the certificate to your PPC. look for a tool called "DisableCertChk.EXE". It should do the trick. Good luck! Edited November 7, 2006 by blindrezo
Guest blindrezo Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Well then.. Even though I used the tool, and the certification checking is supposedly "off", it still doesn't work and still gives the same message... *sigh* Wasted 60 euros on a damn Wifi card too.
