Hi - I've somehow managed to add several wrongly spelt words to my T9 dictionary

Can anyone tell me where the spelling additions are kept and how to remove them ?

Hi

go to file manager Then press Menu and select "Find"

type t9 into file name

and change the folder to windows (menu key scroll down to windows then press done)

then press start

a list of all "t9" relaled files should appear

scroll down to "T9MyWord.exe" then press menu and select Run

A big list of all your words will be there

just scroll down and delete the ones you don't want (Menu Delete)

Welcome to the forum :(

Excellent response from Armsy but I would make another suggestion. You may need to application unlock your phone first.

When phone is connected to PC with ActiveSync, browse to that Windows folder and right-click / copy the T9MyWord.exe file. Now go to \Windows \Start Menu \Accessories (last step optional) and right-click and Paste Shortcut. You can rename the shortcut here too. Now you have an easier way to edit that list and, believe me, you'll need to do it regularly

This looks a good scheme!

Anyone know why I cant seem to find the t9MyWord.exe file?

Even if I go right out to the Smartphone (the whole lot, storage card included) it doesn't find it.

I have changed the search to find *.exe but it only finds a few (about 8).

Oddly enough, I tried to open an unknown filetype and the t9myword.exe was listed as a potential program to open the file with so it is definitely in there somewhere but I just cant seem to find it! I have tried:

t9*.*

t9myword.exe

t9MyWord.exe

*.exe

I have searched specifically in:

Windows (the only *.exe file it finds there is autorun.exe)

Smartphone

And also tried poking about in file manager.

Unfortunately I do not have access to connect it to a PC threough activesync yet.

Thanks for any help

if you can't use activesync, you'll have to go into the options for the file manager and make sure it's set to SHOW files in ROM. The t9 .exe. file IS in the \windows directory, it's just hidden because the file manager is set to HIDE files in ROM.

Beware, once you uncheck the option to hide them, it'll take a good 20 seconds to load the windows directory in the file manager becasue thre are so many files in \windows.

Good luck,

Oh, by the way...

You can also edit t9 words on-the-fly. When you're in an editable text field, hold down the * button. Now scroll down to "T9 Settings" in the pop-up menu, then click on "My Words"

That'll start the same t9MyWord.exe program...
