How can I delete a contacts folder from SPV c500?

Here's my problem...

I use Portamail to sync between my SPV c500 and Groupwise at work (sync with Outlook at home). Usually I only sync my calendar but, like an arse, for some reason today I tried to sync 'addresses', thinking it would be good to have same contacts on phone as in my email address books....

...overlooking the fact that Groupwise email includes the address book for whole council that I work for. I now have 1000's of useless contacts in a new folder within contacts. It's helpful that these have all been lumped into a new folder - it theory I should be able to delete the whole folder rather than have to delete thousands of contacts one by one... yes? Does anyone know how???

Argh!! I'm sure you were geniunely trying to help.... but I've no got all those unwanted contact on Outlook as well INSTEAD of all my wanted contacts which, I seem to have lost for good! Where did I go wrong?!!

Sounds like you have set Activesync to replace all contacta on the PC rather than the device?

I presumed you would be using the remove contacts on the device you had initially synced but it sounds like you have tried this on a different pc?
