Dopod 577w unbelievable standby time

Dear all,

I just bought my dopod 577w 2 weeks ago. I have checked my task list, there is no program running at background, but the standby time for my phone is less than 24 hours.

Every 15 mins I check my battery percentage, it will goes down at least 5%. End up the battery cannot last for one day even I have fully charged it.

The standby time at Dopod website is 250 hours. But in actual, it does not last for 24 hours.

The battery cannot even last for 24 hours although I do not on my wifi, not making any calls, and etc.

The battery standby time is not as good as I expected.

Anyone has any ideas?

Everyone there experienced of this? or is this normal?

If it is not, what should I do. Should I get this phone back to Dopod?

You are putting it in a case where it will drain battery. Light will always stay on. Your safest bet is to find a better case or put it in your pocket alone. That is how I do it.

Here is a software that can help you but the screen saver will still be on if you put it on a case.

By right, if we have locked the phone. It shouldnt lights on whenever the keypad is pressed or move the joystick.

Just wonder why dopod never think of this.

Finally I got my phone back from the service center. But not really satisfy with my battery life. After collected the phone, the technician asked me to charge the phone 6-7 hours. At first I thought everything was ok. I have make a first call to my friend. Talk for 5 mins, and guess what? The battery drained 3% and end up with 97% left.

I have fully charged my phone at 5pm. I didnt off my phone at night, and make few calls. Estimately, my total talk time was around 20 mins. Now at 9am, my battery only remain 40%. Guys, do you think this is normal?

hmmm... i have a Dopod577w with the latest Dopod rom. my battery lasts for more than 36 hours. and that's with about 30 mins voice call, around 100 SMS (send/receive), a few MMS (send/receive), about 3 hours web browsing (yep), among other stuff i do with my Tornado. :rolleyes:

My phone can last for 2-3 now. As I think, this is normal just like every 577w owner.
