Guest munsen Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 It would appear that Vodafone have pulled a fast one for users of the v1240 wanting to use Activesync to send e-mail through recieved on an exchange server to their phone instantaneously. From what I can gather, Windows Mobile 5 phones running active sync should have available an otion to "forward e-mails when they arrive" under the schedule setting menu (ie. the intervals the phone checks for new e-mails). This option has been removed form the v1240 version of activesync. Instead, you must set the phone to sync at a specified time limit as opposed to mail just arriving as it appears on the exchange server. Sure you can set the sync to as little as every 5 mins but this eats alot of data over a 24 hr period. Is there a way to install a version of active sync on the phone which has not had this option removed? Any suggestions (or corrections) welcome.
Guest munsen Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Hey there folks, I am posting this with my tail between my legs....... The problem I was having is related to my business exchange server not being set up for Always-up-to-date and not at all anything to do with vodafone - my apologies to them.
