c500 ringtones dont stop!

i put on my own midi ringtones,, when i get a text message and my ringtone plays it doesnt stop when i anwer the message and the only way to get it to stop is to turn the phone off

i never had this problem with my nokia 3510i and the same ringtones :rolleyes: they're just polyphonic final fantasy tunes.

The tone will play till the end so it's a good idea to use short ones. How long are the files you're using ?

You don't mean they keep repeating ?

30-60 seconds. no not repeating just keeping going. on my other phone when i opened the msg it stopped.

ive updated the firmware, it was like version 4.1.1.0 before. so maybe that will help.

if you buy midi ringtones from the orange wap site surely they arent super short???

As Disco Stu said, SMS messages are handled in a different way to ringtones. The phone will always play the entire tone when you recieve a message and can not be stopped.

Changing the firmware will not change this.
