Guest ripnet Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Hi, Yesterday my Heremes (TMobile) became disconnected from the T-Mobile network (network unavailable) at some point during the afternoon, and I missed several calls/texts because of it. The connection icon had a little cross on it. Using connection manager to turn it to flight mode and back to normal mode made it re-register with the network. I put it down to 'one of those things', but today its happened again. If I tell it to re-connect to the network, it does. I cannot have an unreliable phone - does this sound like a network issue (surely my phone would automatically reconnect when the service came back?) or a fault on my phone. Im in London (Central and SE), and using the 3g network. Im trying it in GSM mode to see if that helps. [Oddly, GSM performance for web browsing seems a lot snappier than the 3g (with HSCSDA)... i might just keep it on GSM unless im doing a large download. Shame to waste the 3g'ness tho, although the faster processor makes the hermes still a lot better than the old wizard.] My question is - has anyone else in London or elsewhere had this yesterday? im unsure if its a network problem, or a issue with my phone. I havent installed anything new on the phone recently. ANyone? george

Was getting a steady 2bars signal and made a few phone calls. 20 mins later tried to make a phone call and got network unavailable, thought it was my position (in a valley). Travelled to top of nearby hill and still unavailable. When back in the valley still no signal, switched phone off and back on again and instantly back to steady 2 bar signal. Just put it down to a network glitch! Rufus.

Swicthin on/off, rebooting with, then without sim, manually selecting networks - none of that worked. Even weirder was the fact that I could surf and text, but not make calls!!! I went postal when I then called TMob CS and essentially got told to get lost because they were out of opening hours.
