Guest hmony Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 [teaser]Does this device look familiar? It probably should do, it's the Amoi E70! OK, so you probably know it as the i-mate SPL, an until now thought-to-be-i-mate-exclusive! :( Chinese site 'yesky' have a review of the device, which can be found here (in Chinese of course) but there's a few pictures, screenshots, photo samples and other snippets below, with more after the jump  Thoughts? It's thin, good looking, seems to have a decent spec and 'OK' camera... it could do well, both in Europe / USA in the i-mate guise, and in China with Amoi! [/teaser] About screens: Using BMQ to benchmark the device: 2.0MP camera: Two real photos taken from the Amoi E70 (click to enlarge): 3.7V 1100mah battery... in a real test, 30Min/day talk, Send/Receive 30 SMS/day, some time use data connection, it can standby for 60 hours!

Guest awarner (MVP) Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Nice, shame it only has the omap 730 cpu though.
Guest hmony Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 (edited) 730 be differ from 750 One SDRam ,other DDRRam Edited October 15, 2006 by hmony
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 The 730 was used in the old Typhoon devices so it's using a processor from two years ago.
Guest Pondrew Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 An outdated processor (same as the SPV C500) and having only tri band makes this a poor alternative to all the recent Smartphone and Pocket PC Phone devices. Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole myself...
Guest Crispy Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 The only thing it has going for it is the fact that it's fairly thin... Definitely a no-go in my opinion
