Guest klangman Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 hi peeps.recently i just upgraded my dopod 577w(htc tornado) to the latest AKU 2.0 firmware.after updating the device withe the latest firmware,i did the usual stuff that everyone does(app unlock, change gprs to edge icon, etc etc).after that,i updated the phone with the DOPOD default file which contains all the data connection settings for telco's all around asia pacific,as u all know dopod markets HTC products across asia.after that,i chose the settings for the telco which i was currently using.i tried connecting to the internet afterwards but it will remain in a connecting and uploading mode for like few seconds, and then an error message pops out quoting this..'the page cannot be found.check the name and try again'...moreover whatever site i tried to visit will end with the same message.first,i figured that maybe my telco is having connection problems, maybe there's some netwok problem.but when i used my sim card on another phone, the internet connections works perfectly.moreover, whenever i try to access the internet on my dopod, eventhough the error message appears,i still get charged for my gprs charges, small amounts i might say....hard to believe eh?hence,i reckon that this problem occurs due to some registry error or some problem in the phone settings.i hope you tornaod experts out there can help me solve the problem as losing my EDGE connection really irks me,makes me feel like throwing my tornado into a monsoon drain.....cheers.
