WM5 Push email and Send/Receive

Can someone tell me how to get push email from my w0rk imap server, or failing that to schedule a send/recieve please?

I don't recall what OS the SDC Music uses, but assuming it's WM5 then...

Push Email

You need an MS Exchange server 2003 running SP2

Your mail server administrator needs to enable the facility for you

Then, on your phone

Start, ActiveSync...

Menu, Configure Server

... Enter the external address for your mail server

... Tick "Requires SSL" if that is the case for your server

Next

... Enter your username and password, Domain

... Tick "Save password"

Next

... Choose what elements (Email, Contacts etc) you want to sync

Finish

Menu, Schedule

... Choose how to sync (manually, or as items arrive generally)

... Menu, Peak Times

... Set the days and times that you want to sync

If you want to do it manually (not Push Email) then instead of all of that you go to Messaging...

... Menu, Options

... New Account

... Enter your name, email address, mail server, username and password when prompted

... Set the frquency for the downloads.

One thing to note is that the scheduled downloads do NOT send any emails you have in your Outbox - you have to do a manual Send and Receive to send your emails

Oh dear, that's out of date, using the Vario II now, wanted to check for emails periodically.

Edit. I found the schedule on Page 3/4 Options button for my email Accounts setup.
