SPV M600 - Can't install other programs

I've recently upgraded my C600 to an M600 and all seems well except I can't seem to install any extra software (wmIRC, MSN Messenger, etc). I keep getting a "blahblah.exe is not a valid Pocket PC application" despite the fact that I'm fairly certain they should work.

What am I doing wrong? <_<

Are you trying to install the same software you used on your C600?

If so this could be your problem as you need the PocketPC version of this software.

No it isn't, infact I even downloaded the MSN installer from the links in this article.

Lots of apps have exe files which are installed on your PC which then install the app on your PPC via ActiveSync - you'll get that message if you try to run these on your PPC.
