Guest bugcab Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Totally in the dark here but hope can get some help! How do I access a shared drive on my home netwtork through wm5 (on vario II). The drive is shared and accessible to pc's but I am a bit of a computer novice. Thanks for any tips.
Guest Incarniac Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Go to the "Start" menu, click "Programs", then "File Explorer", click "Menu" and "Open Path" and select "New Path..". Now type in the network path to the shared drive, e.g. \\some-computer\some_share. If a username and password is required you will be prompted. Good luck!
Guest Tech Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 it wont work 100% of the time...just the way it is. I tried it and only got it to work a couple of times everytime its connected via bluetooth or wifi
Guest bugcab Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Hmmm Just tells me that I cant connect with current setting!! Thanks for taking the time though folks.
Guest Incarniac Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Hmmm Just tells me that I cant connect with current setting!! That means you're not connected. Usually this is done through WiFi (WLAN). If you haven't set up WLAN yet, you'll need to do so (Start Menu -> Settings -> Connections tab -> Wireless LAN) . Once you're connected, you should be able to access the shared drive.
Guest mandt Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Resco explorer makes this so easy! Download a trial from , and map a drive in the normal way: \\server\share
