Guest genaldar Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 I don't know if anyone has tried this program but I love it. The only problem is that while it works in xp 64 bit the file extensions don't. And since 90% of the time thats how I un-compress files it made it kind of worthless to me. So I switched to 7-zip and while its a nice program, and free to boot, I just still would rather use tugzip. Hell I still install tug on any computer a friend brings me to fix and its on all my other computers, just not on my desktop. Sadly since tug is a 1 man show there are no signs of 64 bit extensions being implemented any time soon. After finding out a user had found out how to add 64 bit extensions to clamwin I decided to take a crack at doing the same for tugzip. I took a look at where 7-zip inserted itself in the registry and then at where tugzip inserted itself in the registry and attempted to create the 64 bit strings for tugzip. I failed. This was months ago. But it still bugs me that I can't use tugzip on my desktop, which is the computer I use 95% of the time. So I was hoping that someone might be willing to take a crack at this. Thanks
