Guest colinsteadman Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Had a glass of water on my desk next to my printer and phone. OK not a great pair to stick in close proximity, but I wasn't expecting a book to fall off my printer and knock the water over my phone... Its never happened before. Anyway, the phone lived for about 30 seconds after I rescued it, but then slowly the screen went white... So I took the battery out and tried forcing out the water by waving the thing around. It worked and I got all the loose water out of it. Battery back in, power on, got the boot screen, everything looked good, then as Windows was loading it whited out again... Must be some water still in there. Does anyone have a link to dismantle an SPV M600? Or some suggestions as to what I can do? I had a SonyErricson that I put in the washing machine in my jeans pocket once, it was in there for 20 minutes before I recued it, and after it dried out over 4 days was right as rain... So I'm hoping this will be the same. But thought I'd get some suggestions from you lot too. TIA Idiot
Guest tsutton Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Take the battery out and leave them in the airing cupboard for 4 days or so.
Guest jimbouk Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 And if after 48 hours of drying it still plays up, then the chances are that any mineral deposits in the water have dried and are creating bad connections on a circuit board. Amazingly just about the only way to deal with those is to actually wash the electronics with distilled water and then let is thoroughly dry. (The distilled water will dry without leaving any deposits on the circuit boards). Of course, if you have O cover, then
