answering modem has disconnected ?!

I keep getting a problem where my Vario II can't make a data connection (or 2G or 3G).

As soon as it tries, it almost instantly fails with a message about "the answering modem has disconnected" (this is on t-mobile). It get this about once a day.

Switching into and out-of flight mode cures it, but it's rather annoying !!

It only started when I installed GB-SOFT GPRS & Audio Tweak and set the disconnect time to 3mins. I've since removed it, but I think it has left the disconnect time still at 3 mins.

Has anyone else had this, and does anyone know what the "default" connection settings are, so I an try and put them back. I have a feeling that it wasn't just "leave connected all the time".

i have had this, especially in marginal signal areas (or 3g/gprs swapping points). also seems to happen when phone very low on battery. i find just going into comm managed, disabling data or wifi connection and enabling sorts it out.
