Guest notaliberal Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Would that be possible? Here's the scenario: Load T-mobile Stock ROM onto SDA Export ENTIRE registry Load Imate sp5m 2.6.33 ROM onto SDA Import the registry from the T-Mobile ROM Allow overwite of ALL duplicate entries My thought was that any of the new implementations for backlight, etc, would not be duplicated on the OLD T-mo ROM, so they would remain after the import. Sounds nice, but anybody know if this will work? I'm trying to determine whether some features, etc, on the T-Mo ROM are hardcoded, or if they are registry settings that I just can't find. Examples are 1) holding down # to change to silent and 2) scrolling behavior in PIE and 3) holding backspace key in editable text erases everything at once on the t-mo, letter-at-a-time on the imate. There are more that I just can't think of right now... So, any advice, expertise, suggestions, etc greatly appreciated! Thanks
Guest chucky.egg Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 You probably can't overwrite the entire registry because of permissions on some areas. The chances are that the settings in the Imate ROM are different values for the same Reg Keys that are found in the T ROM. Overwriting like this will probably just change your Imate config to be your old T config, rather than keeping Imate-specific settings.
Guest notaliberal Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 That's kind of what I'm looking to do. I like many of the t-mo ROM settings more, but obviously the newer 2.6.33 ROM performs better with alot of things, the least of which is the backlight. So, do you forsee me rendering my phone unusable if I try this? Thanks for the reply,
