Hey everyone, here's a problem for you all. I own an SPV C500, great phone, until now...

I went on a 3 hour train journey yesterday, on which I knew I would be bored, so before I left, I piled a load of MP3s onto it so I had something to listen to on the way. The train journeys there and back were fine, listening to my private stash of mp3s with the hands free kit.

There is supposedly a contact inside the socket which can get jammed, it's a common problem and you'll find other replies by searching, but the suggestion is usually to put the plug in and out a few times slowly or quickly and eventually it will go back into normal profile. Also seen the suggestion of using a cocktail stick in the hole to try clean stuff out, of course all at your own risk. Maybe check if it's under warranty too.

Ok, i tried fiddling about with the plug and i managed to get some sound to come out, but only when the handsfree kit is partially in. it even changed profile to normal. could it be that in taking it out last time i broke a connection inside the port and by having the handsfree plug in there it is acting as some kind of bridge for the connection? if this is true would i have to take it somewhere to get repaired, i think my warrenty will have ran out a while ago now so i doubt i can rely on that...

EDIT:: scratch that. i did some more fiddeling with it and managed to keep the sound going whilst i took the handsfree kit out. all is now working. until i forget about this and put the handsfree kit back in sometime... lol then it all begins again. anyway, thanks for your help
