Guest duke_stix Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Heya I've got a VOIP account with voiparound, and it runs great on the router and everything. its a great voip service. now, what im wondering is. is there ANY way that ANYONE has managed to use WI-FI on their SP5 to basically use their phone as a VOIP handset? is this possible at all, has anyone EVER managed to get it to work?! theres a few threads floating around but they dont give any concrete answers. any help would be great.
Guest kam_ Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Cicerophone does the job (over WiFi and over GPRS {to some degree}) and i can confirm i have it working fine - but they won't sell it as single license for normal people. They'll only sell in large licenses to business so you won't be able to get a copy. See the other thread on here, many have already tried. You can use sjphone (again look in the other thread, i posted instructions), but its fidly because its a workaround. Aside from those two options i havn't seen or heard of any others for SIP. Other 'voip' clients alike skype do exist, but of course you are stuck with their rates.
