Hi,

since our device uses landscape resolution, most apps do not work correctly.

I tried some apps made for MOTO Q and some work while others don't.

Please post the working apps (comercial or freeware) you have on your i320.

GAMES

-Age Of Empires

-Fishopolis

-ZioGolf Pro

Aplications

-MoBlue

-Resco Explorer

-TCPMP

-tweaks2k2 .net

-jetware bluetooth hands free config

-celetask

-chucky rsoft

-Mapsolute map24 mobile

-Merwin Tornado PowerControl (at least with the backlight, needs adjustments for the clock speed)

Please list your apps/games...

I have read in a german forum that Papyrus is running perfect.

TomTom 5 is running (I'm sure you need to run the update to 5.2)

TomTom 6 seems also to work, because expansys sell it as a bundle here

maybe it's also a good idea to post which applications are NOT running, because there are people (like me) out there who don't have that phone but want to gather infos if their most beloved apps are running.

I've heard there is no MIDP Emulator installed, which means that NO JAVA app can run - is that true?

(in my case that would be a showstopper to buy the i320, because I need the JAVA based time table for the public transport)

Is there any 3rd party JAVA emulator?

Hi,

unfortenely java is not pre-instaled on the i320.

I've read that there are several java releases that you can download but i havent tried.

I think it's better to list the apps working than the not working, since most of the apps i've tried do not work.

I have installed and tested these applications on my Samsung SHG-i320 running smartphone mobile 5 (5.1.195)

Microsoft Pocket Streets 2005 for smartphone works fine. Some menus are not designed for landscape, but can be used. Most importantly, the moving map with GPS uses the entire landscape... love it!

Themechanger 4.1

Several Motorola Q homescreens (same format screen so they are perfect...)

MemoPad

Westtek ClearView Suite (office reader).... some bugs in screen size but document reading works flawlessly.

Games

Bust'Em

Candy Catchup

SPVMan

MAME CE3 :-) but most apps themselves do not work. Working games like 1942 has no sound.

Celldoom

Invaders 5

Oxios Close All

Oxios Hibernate

GPRS trafic monitor

Map 24 mobile

BioLogin

TomTom 6 but with landscape screen issues (see seperate post here)

PocketTV does not work as stated below! It turns the screen upwards when playing fullscreen.

I switched to TMCMP and this is just a very cool media player. Definetely recommended!

I will update this post continuously as I install more applications.

/M

I just recently picked up my SGH-i320n in Thailand while on vacation there. These are the only four applications that I use that I installed to the phone:

- Avantgo (Free)

- eWallet (Paid)

- Pocket TV (Free)

- Sprite Backup (Paid)

These programs were made for Windows Mobile and not specifically for WM5 in landscape mode. But they all seem to work well. When I have time and the funds I want to add "Voice Commander" and "TCPMP".

I have tried a few, but kept these known few Free useful ones on mine:

Total Commander (used to remove camera shutter sound)

AutoKeylock (+ additional function for continued alerts for SMS/email/missed calls)

PHM registry editor (cant find any useful registries to edit yet anyway)

RJ tasks (for homescreen Tasks plugin)

btw, for Merwin Tornado PowerControl, isnt it for a Ti OMAP processor? the i320 is an Xscale right?

Im still hunting for a freeware that can:

Backup contacts and calander to memory card.

Turn off the backlight,

Scale down the processor speed

Free English Dictionary program that uses the full landsacape (CE doesnt work)
