Guest gemidriver Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 I have just gotten an I-mate Jamin and i want to use it to connect to my internet access at home. I have the wi fi turned on and it is connected to my wireless router however, when i open up IE and try to go to a web page, it tries to connect to telstra.internet and connect using GPRS. What do i need to do to change the settings so that it uses Wi Fi instead of the GPRS? Cheers

I have the wi fi turned on and it is connected to my wireless router however, when i open up IE and try to go to a web page, it tries to connect to telstra.internet and connect using GPRS. What do i need to do to change the settings so that it uses Wi Fi instead of the GPRS? Cheers Hi. I had the same problem and searched the forum for ages and found all kinds of solutions, but come up with this SITE. In the Connection Settings, go to the Advanced tab. Click Select Networks. In the first option, Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using... There I created a new one called Home Wifi, that connect to the internet but without any proxy/modem. Then, in the second option, Programs that automatically connect to a private network should connect using... Select your GPRS connection. When I wan't to connect with my WiFi at home with this settings I have to close the current GPRS connection by holding the "red phonekey" for some seconds. Then activate the WiFi. Sometimes the phone want's to use the GPRS anyway, just click abort one or two times and the third time it will use the WiFi. Hope this will work for you as well, maybe there are other better solutions but it works for me, and I can access my GPRS connection (with proxy) independent of the WiFi. /Daniel
