Guest Transform Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 (edited) i have tomtom mobile 5 on my spv c500. the tomtom folder is in storage\tomtom which contains 5 folders: 2577 Licences raster TomTom voices My map is the GB map which is in stoage card root. My GPS is a BT something. im not sure on the model # but here is a picture of it: When i run tomtom it finds the map etc but then it says "no gps device!" can anyone give me a step by step guide to get this working? update - I have just read a few forums and found that its not compatible without the traffic update? i downloaded the update and unzipped it. i wasnt sure where to install it to so i chose to install it to my phone. it installed it to the root of the phone (storage), however my tomtom executable is in storage\tomtom\tomtom\tomtom MOBILE.exe i am unsure whether i have to replace the exe and other files with the new ones that were put on the phone? i also just noticed that there is a small icon when i go onto the start menu of a satellite which is a grey colour. i would be most grateful for any help because this is really annoying that i cant get it working!! Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Why not use the TomTom GPS?
Guest Transform Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 its ok i sorted it out now. only probably i have is that i seem to charge it overnight and it still wants to charge more. im not sure how long the average gps unit is meant to charge for. do you know? the manual says that it should turn off when its fully charged yet it never turns off. maybe its faulty?
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Depending on the charger no more than 4hrs so overnight and then some more seems strange.
Guest Transform Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 it only came with a car charger and a pc sync charger. it wouldnt be because i charged it using my c500 mains charger would it?
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 Unlikely, what's the rating of the GPS charger? if it's greater than the C500 charger it could be possible but I don't think that's the issue. It could be a poor quality battery that's being used as it's a cheap GPS unit you have. Normally Li-ion batteries have an overcharge and under charge protection circuitry.
Guest Transform Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 how do i find out the rating of the gps charger and the c500 charger?
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 It will be printed on the charger.
Guest Transform Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 i only have the spv charger and im not sure what im looking for on it. i cant compare it to anything as my gps unit only came with a usb/car charger.
