Guest Steve Riley Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I've spent the last two hours trying to find out how to do this, and have come up empty. I see lots of information about how to reorder my start menu. That isn't what I want. On my storage card are a couple .exe files that I'd like to link to from my start menu. How do I create .lnk files on a smartphone? Thanks guys...
Guest mandt Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Should be as simple as: Explore your phone via ActiveSync Browse to your chosen exe, Right click, Copy Browse to the Start menu folder, Right click, Paste shortcut

I'm running Vista, not XP, so there's no ActiveSync. Built into Vista is the Sync Center, which supercedes ActiveSync. When I try to paste into the Start Menu folder, "Paste shortcut" in the menu is grayed out. Guess I need to report a bug.
Guest mandt Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 You're gonna have to do it on the phone then, Resco explorer will let you do it as described above

It can create a .lnk from any file on the phone. Cool file manager replacement, not sure why it isn't popular...
Guest mandt Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 it is popular, its limitation is it can't send files by bluetooth, but its free so you can't grumble!
