I've spent the last two hours trying to find out how to do this, and have come up empty. I see lots of information about how to reorder my start menu. That isn't what I want. On my storage card are a couple .exe files that I'd like to link to from my start menu. How do I create .lnk files on a smartphone? Thanks guys...

Should be as simple as:

Explore your phone via ActiveSync

Browse to your chosen exe, Right click, Copy

Browse to the Start menu folder, Right click, Paste shortcut

Tried that, but it didn't work. I'm running Vista, not XP, so there's no ActiveSync. Built into Vista is the Sync Center, which supercedes ActiveSync. When I try to paste into the Start Menu folder, "Paste shortcut" in the menu is grayed out. Guess I need to report a bug.

You're gonna have to do it on the phone then, Resco explorer will let you do it as described above

Just installed Total Commander from http://www.ghisler.com/. It can create a .lnk from any file on the phone. Cool file manager replacement, not sure why it isn't popular...

it is popular, its limitation is it can't send files by bluetooth, but its free so you can't grumble!
