Guest Markda2000 Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Does anyone know if it is possible to delete cetain files under the windows directory on the device to save space, Mainly the media files 1-nature_15fps Alouette etc as the delete option is greyed out on explorer. Also are there other files that can be deleted which are mainly unneccasary.

I have on mine Not sure about the 'other files' you mention but err on the side of caution Sorry forgot to mention that I use Resco and it is not possible on the 2nd Tmobile rom update for the MDA Pro, although now that you have said that I do think I was able to before this latest Rom update.

Then create same filenames but with 0 bytes in it anyware in your PC. Simply copy 0 byte files to your ISPM/WINDOWS forlder and overwrite old files. Yes, they'll be useless, but if you don't use them anyway, what's the point? I've done it with pictures and release much of space.

Thanks for that, I will try it once I get my laptop back from the repair shop. I've been running my MDA Pro for the last month as a standalone device and so far no major headaches.
Guest Markda2000 Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 I used the process outlined above, but without the PC. I used Resco explorer, and copied the files across from the SD card to the Windows folder. There was no resulting increase in available Rom so I then copied the original files back which then reduced the Rom futher. I believe this will be restored with a hard reset, but will not be doing that until I have my laptop back again.
