U.S. T-Mobile MDA (HTC Wizard) IrDA Question

Hello everyone, I'm a new member here. I've been recommended to this forum from a friend of mine who has the same phone as I (T-Mobile MDA, but his is remarketed as the O2 XDA). Both of these phones appear to have been renamed from the original HTC Wizard.

I've had lots of wonders with my phone, but I've only run into one complicating problem to date.

The problem is when I'm trying to use IrDA to print a file to a printer. I have a HP LaserJet 2100 at my work with the IR receiver in the front of it. The light on the printer blinks green for that, but on my MDA, it shows the printer 2 times, the first time reading "Failed" and the second as "Tap to send". When I tap to send, it errors out saying "Failed" as well. I'm almost positive that my IR port is fine because I was able to IR correctly to my science teacher's T-Mobile MDA without any problems, by sending a Notepad file. (To date, I only know 2 other people, the first one I mentioned, and this one who has the same phone as I).

Is there some sort of a problem with this phone to IrDA to printers correctly ? It's something I'd like to use, but it's useless if I run into problems when I try to use it.
