Hi all

This is my first post so hi to everyone. :(

I have ordered the XDA Mini S smartphone and just waiting for delivery. I have been trawling the net all day to try and get an answer about the following.

The purchase is mainly for organizing my life. I will be using the calender / to-do's / notes / word etc most and of course the phone. I want to be able to sync my calender etc with a calender on my desktop and vice versa.

I have been looking around and am i right in thinking i can only use Outlook on my desktop ? I have office 97 on my desktop with outlook 97 and i hate the calender and to/do's etc on it. The calender i currently use on my desktop was from the software i got with an old Palm PDA, i don't use the PTA anymore but just use the calender etc and i love it. The problem with this software is i don't think i will be able to sync it with the new XDA because i can't sync my old calender with outlook so im guessing it won't work.

Has anyone got any suggestions or do i have to use outlook? i suppose im thinking if someone buys the XDA and wants to see and share there calender / to/do's etc on there desktop and they have not purchased outlook then what would they do?

Also the XDA is coming from o2. Will i be able to put my existing sim card in it that i have in my mobile now on a contract to keep the same number and put the new sim that comes with the SD in my old phone ? (yes i have 2 contracts going here but my wife is having my old phone with the new contract and new sim that comes with the XDA) Hope that all makes sense

Thanks everyone in advance :)

You should get a coppy of Outlook 2002 with the phone. Its a big step up from '97 :(

Provided both sim cards are O2 and both phones are O2 (or network unlocked) then you shouldn't have a problem swaping the SIMs

btw, the Mini S is a PPC not Smartphone so don't be suprised it the admins move this to the relevant section in the forums.

Thanks so much for the reply. I have just looked at reviews and screen shots of outlook 2002 and it looks very similar to the 97 version, i could be wrong but the reviews was very off putting.

I would be very interested to hear what other software people use for their desktop calender suite etc to sync to there PDA's ? Would need to be compatible with the XDA Mini S :P
