Guest Kittydog16 Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Hi, I recently received this lovely phone as a present, after having a c500 previously and was just wondering if there are different settings floating around for the phone on pay as you go, and not on contract. It hadn't occured to me till last night I would need different settings, for once I thought wow I have a phone that is meant to be on O2 for once, and I'll be able to use it easily (unlike the problems I had with the c500 on O2). But I need the settings for it so I can send and receive MMS, as I can't live without them . So does anyone happen to know them? I had a fiddle around guessing, but it didn't help too much, had a look around on the net and was unsuccessful. And just thought, as I got lovely help for with my c500 before in the past this is the place to ask. I'm a little iffy about getting it working also as on the O2 Connection settings I don't have the choice to select pre-paid...unless there's a little file I can download to sort it out :(. I thank you very very much for anyone who can help me, as I really really want my phone to work nice and smoothly.
Guest chucky.egg Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Those settings are in the world-famous "MoDaCo Smartphone Settings Repository" http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=200962

Another XDA IQ owner. Excellent, there's been far too few of us until lately. :( Surprised to hear the O2 Connection Settings program leaves the Prepaid option greyed out, I assumed it was only like that on mine as it recognised my sim as a monthly paid one. That suggests it's either something in rom or in the coding of the program that's leaving it greyed out. I'm guessing your device was once on a Monthly contract. I don't think O2 even offer the device on Pay As You Go so spose it's logical enough... Chuck.egg's link should give you the right settings anyway. Let us know if you have any problems.
Guest Kittydog16 Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Hmm I popped in the settings but it still says it can't recieve the MMS
Guest Pondrew Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Sorry to hear it. Can you send yourself an MMS succesfully? What happens when it tries to download an mms? Are you sure your pay as you go account has MMS activated?

Are you sure your pay as you go account has MMS activated? I can't send them either I have found out. When I try to download one it tells me it was unable to send/receive the message and that it will stay in my inbox/outbox. And yes I've sent a fair few MMS's with this sim card on my c500
