I'm very excited to say that over the weekend, we crossed the 1 million mark for points uploaded by MoDaCo users using MoDaCo CamerAware's personal tracking features! The total now stands at over 1.2 million journey points and it's rising fast.

Did you know you can join in the fun for FREE?

MoDaCo CamerAware can be downloaded and installed FREE, with a purchase only being necessary to enable the Speed Camera alerting functionality! The unregistered version includes the full tracking functionality, which means you can set the application to upload your position as you drive around, that you (or others) can then view later on, using an interactive map.

The granularity available from the upload function is quite incredible. The application uploads every 1 minute, but records your position every 1 second, making for fantastically detailed plots of your journeys. In addition, the online tracking web interface is being continually updated with new features, with the new 'multiple journey' functionality coming very soon!

If you'd like to find out more, check out the MoDaCo CamerAware forum or the Complete getting start with CamerAware guide topic... and feel free to check out one of my journeys to see it in action :)

You'll also note that full privacy is available for your maps, configurable from your profile in 'My MoDaCo'.

Enjoy :D

PS Flat rate data tariff highly recommended!

PPS If you like it you can buy the application to support ongoing development :P

great to see the success of CamerAware !

What other interesting facts are there, such as longest journey or maximum recorded speed (for our German members only on the autobahn!) etc...

how about adding a counter to the Board Statistics section at the bottom of the forum list?

keep up the good work!

I'll run a few stats later on, but maximum recorded speed is an easy one, and it's 124.6 mph... on a train by the looks of the map! :)

This could get dangerous with members blatantly flouting the speed limits to get their name on the CamerAware high-speed leaderboard. Fun though! :D

- If only Bluetooth + GPS use was allowed on a plane we could see some serious speeds! :D

You can't get a fix inside the plane anyway :)

Now that would be interesting! Do let me know when it happens so I can see what it looks like. :)
