Guest notaliberal Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 (edited) I've been using the 4.99 t-zones plan for awhile, browsing the web no problem. Kept wishing I could stream music though, so I finally broke down and went for it...sort of... I upgraded to the blackberry unlimited add-on, assuming it is the same as the total internet package, just without the stupid hotspots addition. Waited, and today the text message came saying the new addition was complete. So, I try and try to set up my GPRS and proxy connections to be able to actually USE this service, and all I can do is browse as before. I cannot stream music still!! So, I've been pouring over all the settings in various threads, and nothing I find is working. Briefly, my settings are: DATA CONNECTIONS: Internet Connection: T-Zones GPRS Work Connection: None Available WAP Connection: T-Zones WAP Secure WAP Connection: None Available GPRS CONNECTIONS: T-Zones GPRS Connects to: The Internet Access Point: internet2.voicestream.com User Name: Password: Primary DNS: 216.155.165.50 Secondary DNS: 216.155.165.50 IP Address: T-Zones WAP Connects to: The Internet Access Point: wap.voicestream.com User Name: Password: Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 IP Address: PROXY CONNECTIONS: T-Mobile WAP Proxy Connects From: The Internet Connects To: WAP Network Proxy (name:port): 216.155.165.50:8080 Type: HTTP User name: Password: WIth that, I can browse sites if PIE is set to "WAP Network" - if I set it to anything else, with or without checking "automatically detect" , I get either the "verify you have network coverage" error or it gets stuck on locating forever. I've tried deleting the WAP connection, and the proxy, and combinations of both. Is it possible that I just need to wait another day for the service to work? Or, am I missing something? I have to even ask this, it seems to be asked SO OFTEN, I'm sure we're all getting sick of looking at GPRS settings... :) Please advise, if you can... Edited November 7, 2006 by notaliberal
Guest jcostantino Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 IF this works, I'm very interested because I'm using the $30/month plan on my MDA and throwing away $10 a month on Hotspot which I haven't even activated. The only settings I have are an APN of WAP.voicestream.com and no Proxy settings. You'll probably have to remove the Proxy settings because T-Zones uses a proxy and Total Internet is a direct connection. Guest kbiz Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 I have the BB plan with Tmo on a HTC 3125... I wanted to be able to Push (Corp Ports for email) without having to be 40 per month... You need to set the APN to wap.voicestream like was mentioned... on the blackberry that's the only one that's active... it makes no difference in performance. Everything works perfectly and I'm loving the true Push email...
