Guest robt Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Its an easy one this. If you are able to run the java midlet but have problems getting a connection, then go to the Googlemail web page, log in, go to your account settings and change the language from English UK to English US. There you go! Rob :) :D :P
Guest phattmatt Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 (edited) Robt's suggestion has been reported as working elsewhere, unfortunately this alone didn't work for me. I have a T-Mobile Vario II and an "@gmail.com" e-mail address. The GMail MIDlet installed into the Intent MIDlet manager fine. I entered my username (without the "@gmail.com") and password. The MIDlet then shows "Loading" then a few seconds later quits with no error message. I checked my GMail account settings and the language was already set to "English (US)". After some searching I found the following workaround: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=248113&st=20 Which explains how to install an alternative Java/MIDlet JVM (IBM's J9). Installing GMail into this MIDlet seems to work. Not tried too much of the MIDlet yet. Hope someone finds this useful. Matt. Edited November 15, 2006 by phattmatt
