Guest Westy Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 (edited) Hi this is my first posting so appologies if it's in the wrong location. I have just ordered the SPV M600 from orange who have said that it can be used as a Sat Nav device - is this true ? If so, what additional equipment and software do I require and how much does it all cost ? Regards, Westy Edited November 8, 2006 by Westy

Regards, Westy Hi Westy, Yip that little baby can be used for SatNav - You will need some software and a bit of hardware. TomTom software is fab - you can update the points of interest database so that it includes speed cameras to aid in the protection of your licences. You will need to also get a GPS unit (Blue tooth would be a good and easy option) For TomTom expect to pay £160 - £200 and a bit more if you get it with a GPS unit. GPS's units on ebay go for around £40 - £60 Have fun
Guest Samsonite Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 go have a look at a website like Expansys and look through their SatNav offerings. As M1TNT says, you will need a GPS reciever and the software. There are loads out there;TomTom, CoPilot to name two. I think with TomTom there is a situation where you HAVE to use their GPS unit. Not entirely sure if thats just for the Smartphone version or if its the case for both PocketPC as well - worth checking out if you to choose your own GPS unit....

I use a GPS that came with my Navman setup but I was not impressed with the software so I went out and got TomTom :) There is a site called PocketGPS that will give you loads more info on PDA style type SatNav solluton. As long as the software supports Windows Mobile 5 ( WM5 ) you should be fine
