Repeat Reminder Problem - Unusual

Hi all,

I know that problems with notification repeats are common, but this one is a little unusual. I have a HP rw6828 that is essentially a clone of the O2 Atom Exec, I believe.

I have phoneAlarm to manage repeat messaging reminders, and that is working well. I even seem to have the pda phone reliably waking up to deliver appointment/task reminders. My problem is getting these appointment reminders to repeat.

When I first purchased the pda phone, the option to repeat appointment reminders was available - a checkbox under the sound selection. This checkbox was disabled for SMS and messaging tones (and pretty much every other tone the device is capable of making!)

However...now, it is disabled, and I have no idea why. I have installed a few programs to test repeating alarms - DontForget, phonealarm - and have settled on phonealarm. I was thinking that maybe installing these proggies had futzed something, so I did a hard reset - held down power, green, and red buttons and pressed trhe reset button. It took 6 or 7 minutes of the HP screen (a different one to the usual splash screen, so I know it was doing something different) - and then it started up, in exactly the same state as before, all programs and settings intact!

So...has anyone else had a problem with the "repeat" option becoming greyed-out in WM5 for appointment reminders, and does anyone have any idea what I did wrong with the hard reset?
