mypocketpcmobile are reporting that i-mate has presented a new device - the i-mate PDA-L - at TechEd Barcelona.

The device, a Windows Mobile powered Pocket PC, is said to have the following specifications:
  • Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC Phone Ediion
  • 2.4" screen
  • TI OMAP 850 processor at 200MHz
  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE Quad Band
  • 64MB RAM
  • 128MB ROM
  • WiFi
  • 2 Megapixel camera
  • 1100mAh battery
  • microSD expansion
  • miniUSB
  • 112mm x 56mm x 16.5mm

The device is said to be thinner, lighter but slightly taller than the i-mate JAMin, to which it has very similar specifications. mypocketpcmobile is reporting the device will be released 'soon' at 'a very attractive price' :)

The device is not made by HTC, but we don't know any more at this time.

I've put a call in to i-mate, so let's see what I can find out :D

P

Edit: adding more information as it comes in

It does look compact for a Pocket PC, but no 3G again... :)

The way the hand is on the phone, I thought it was VOX-ish and I was going to say.....eeeewwwwww!

But sice the sides are straight....it looks nicer. Funny what a little detail can do for looks. Or am I just anal! <_<

Not by much though, only 3mm compared to the Wizard.

You're right - I think it's the styling that gives the illusion of a long and narrow phone (particularly in the photo that's now been replaced!).
