Guest xGrape Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Ok I'm kinda fed up now. I need access to a wap site that, it seems, only allows access via a wap browser. Ie it won't render when using an http browser. I tried both Internet Explorer as well as Opera mini v1 and v2. Other wap sites seem to render fine in both. There has got to be a browser for my phone that only renders pure wap? Any help would be much appreciated!
Guest martin Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Which WAP site are you trying to access ? Have you tried accessing the WAP site using the WAP connection with proxy port 9201. Try the following with you network provider settings. If it fails then you may need to get either the direct WAP address (if possible) or temporarily change the phones 'user agent'. Create GPRS connection. Description: GPRS WAP Connects to: The Internet Access point: (WAP APN) User name: (username if needed) Password: (password if needed) Primary DNS: Secondary DNS: IP address: Create Proxy connection Description: WAP Proxy Connects from: The Internet Connects to: WAP network Proxy (name:port): (WAP proxy IP address):9201 Type: WAP Username: Password: In Settings - Data connections WAP connection: GPRS WAP In Internet Explorer, Menu-Options-Connections Untick 'Auto detect settings' Set 'Select network: WAP network' I don't know of any alternative 'WML browser' programs for the Smartphone.
