I have an XDA IQ (sp5) which i have upgraded to the latest SP5 Rom. I have it set up to use Activesync 4.2 connected to Outlook exchange server. I have Rivia Gentimer, eWallet, Intelligolf, Oxios ToDo List, Sprite Backup, and the Clearview Suite installed.

Usually my phone works fine and then once in a while (on the average every two weeks or so), I start seeing weird things happen. Usually there will be slow system performance, or some features in the phone stop working (can't get to e-mail, if I click on the activesync icon the activesync screen flashes briefly but then disappears, some of the buttons won't work correctly, etc. Then if I turn off my phone and turn it back on it appears to start up correctly but then it gets stuck on the "HTC Innovation" splash screen and it never goes any further. The only way to solve it is through a hard reset. The usually I go to my last Sprite Backup and restore and it works correctly, but sometimes after restoring from backup I get the same problem so the only way forward is to do another hard reset and then re-enter all my settings and re-install all my programs.

It seems like some strange memory leak or running out of memory problem but I never get any warnings. One time I think I narrowed it down to the fact that someone had sent me a calendar invite with an abnormally large attachment and, since activesync does not allow you to limit the attachment size for calendar items, it was killing activesync somehow. This could be a red herring.

Most of the problems seem to be around activesync or pocket outlook so I think it has something to do with that.

Does anybody have any other ideas? Any other activesync diagnostic programs out there? Anything else to try out?

Thanks in advance.
