Guest derek_plant Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 (edited) Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help please? I have an Orange C500 app unlocked and i've sucessfully installed TomTom 5. I can add the Bluetooth GPS device (running on a SirfStar III chipset I believe) as a pair but in TomTom it can't find the GPS device. I've lost my Tom Tom device that came with the software you see. Has anyone got any ideas for me please? Edited November 10, 2006 by derek_plant
Guest derek_plant Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 if anyone's interested and for future searches I did it, and this is how: 1) set the C500 Bluetooth to ON or to discoverable 2) turn on the GPS and pair the devices 3) you MUST then change the name of the GPS device to the following - IT IS CASE SENSITIVE TomTom Wireless GPS 4) you can then turn bluetooth off on the C500 as TomTom will turn it on automatically. 5) You should double check that pairing has been done by going into settings - bluetooth and you should see TomTom Wireless GPS showing even if the receiver is off. If not then you have not paired them. 6) THIS NEXT STEP IS KEY On the C500 (can't remember which menu it is in - but is buried a couple of screens down) - make sure BOTH tick boxes for BlueTooth Serial Ports are ticked. If they are not, TomTom will not recognise the receiver.
