Best sub-£70 Bluetooth GPS reciever?

Recommended Posts

Posted

As the title says - I am in the market for a bluetooth GPS reciever to replace my aging Garmin i3. I dont have a whole lot to spend, £70 max ex delivery!

It needs to work with the Hermes, TomTom (or CoPilot) and MoDaCo CameraAware.

Also if anyone knows of any alternatives to TomTom and CoPilot that work on the Hermes then let me know :)

Cheers,

Craig

I use an Emtac Crux II, which you should be able to get dirt cheap on ebay

There are almost certainly better ones out there, and mine only came with a car charger (no mains charger), but it's served me well for a couple of years now

Holux 236, definitely works with Hermes and Tomtom; not tested with copilot and/or camera aware

I'm using a HOLOX 321 from Ebay on TT5.21 and Hermes.

They only go for £30-40 but I have been amazed at its reliability and quick start up.

I'm using the globalsat bt-359 with tomtom 5.21 on my m3100. Its really small & thin to slip into your pocket when you leave the car and its very sensitive/powerful too so it doesn't even need to be in the window to get a good lock.

I got the new tomtom receiver (SIRF III) on eBay brand new for less than £70; it works a treat. Also makes it very easy to get TT software working

Just get one with the SiRFStar III chipset. THe Holux GPSLim 236 is very good value. £48 from Nav4all or less on Ebay.
