Guest SEESAWBOY Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 I have recently purchased a Vario 2 on T-mobile that came with CoPilotLive 6. The memory card in the CoPliot box is a Mini SD card but the Vario 2 only has a slot for a micro card. Do CoPilot make an SD micro card? Is there a way to insert a Mini card into this device?
Guest phattmatt Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 (edited) I have recently purchased a Vario 2 on T-mobile that came with CoPilotLive 6. I suspect copying the contents of the CoPilot MiniSD card to a 3rd party MicoSD card will work. You will need a memory card reader that can read both types of card to do this. It seems a bit weird that T-Mobile would provide the wrong type of card if you bought the Vario II and CoPilot as a bundle. I'd give customer services a call if I were you. Matt. Guest jimbouk Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Copilot do only provide minisd. Buy a microsd card and Copilot on your pc will help you copy the quickstart files required into the device and the microSD card. I found that copilot needs about 18mb on the card and the full UK maps take about 110 mb - so a 1gb card leaves plenty of space for music and pics etc. Net result you dont need to swap cards to use copilot.
Guest SEESAWBOY Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 (edited) Spoke to T-mobile. They only supply Mini SD Cards. Spoke to Co-Pilot said I need to send them the SD Mini and they will swap it for the micro, when they receive it! Bit frustrating as that will take about a week I guess. I think JIMBOUK'S idea is the fastest, though annoying that I have to fork out for something that I should have got for free out of the box. Thanks for your advice. Guest jimbouk Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 It does seem a bit silly...but as you need a microSD card anyway...its well worth it. And having it on a 1gb microSD card means you dont need to cart a dedicated satnav card around and swap the cards to use satnav.
