We'll tap up our MS contacts and see if we can find out more... watch this space! P Thanks for the TIPoff Shawn! Update: It looks like 16th December 2006 is the date... more details
Guest Shuflie Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Hopefully they can make it a little less resource hungry, I could have lived with 1.5's shortcomings if it didn't gobble up so much memory on my mda pro. This will be the first version out since WM05 so here's hopeing.
Guest JRC Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 There are more informations about this software : http://www.smartphony.fr/news/NEWS_ViewCom....asp?IDNEWS=593

Guest Leaskovski Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Er, i can already start calls from my bt headset!? :)
Guest leoiden Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 HAVE you ever WONDERED?? microsoft voice command be laeked before it is released who knows maybe?????????? anything is possible as long as a human has its hands on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Shuflie Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Er, i can already start calls from my bt headset!? :) Not with MS voice command 1.5 you can't, there's a hack to get it listening when you press the BT headset button but it still listens to the phone mic for the commands. You may be thinking of the Cyberon Voice speed dial that some phones come with which is good, but you have to train it for each number or program. MS Voice command is much better when it works, no training required, it just recognises your contacts. It also does a few other useful things like tell you who is calling and gives you voice control over media player, again all without any form of voice training.

I have voice command listening to commands from my headset, but it was a hack. Still, hoping the new voice command will be a little more compatible with BT!

Guest adchaffey Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 What was the hack, and have you tested it with your finger over the microphone input on your phone? It was only the conventional hack going round, and while i haven't actually covered the microphone, theres little chance it could ever pick up my voice in my car unless it's using the mic on the headset. I'll try it next time i'm in the car though!

It's even smart enough to ignore the mic override when you have a normal set of earphones plugged in, great for voice control of media player when wired up to my car stereo but not so good for phone calls since the phone app ignores the built in mic with earphones connected.

Right i have just sat in the car with my finger over the mic and started a call to my work phone number by using my parrot kit and ms vc 1.5. Using this reg hack.... HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path=\Program Files\Voice Command\voicecmd.exe After i pressed the button, my radio cut out and the car speakers started piping the phone through them. It beeped (as to get me to say the command), i told it to pohone my work number, booom the connection is made... :)

Exactly what happens with me, although I don't have anything quite as fancy as a Parrot Kit!
Guest Pondrew Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Used to love Voice Command 1.5 on my MDA III (HTC Blue Angel) although got out of the habit of installing it when I got the MDA Compact II (HTC Charmer). Might dig it out again and see how my Vario II likes it... ... on second thoughts, no I won't. Just remembered it doesn't support WM5 and that's why I stopped installing it :)
Guest goestoeleven Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 MSVC 1.6 is now available for purchase on Handango: http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDet...635&R=90635 The upgrade price for registered users (at least in the US) is $9.99. I have bought/installed it on my TyTN, which was working just fine with V1.5. I have yet to figure out how to make my bluetooth headset interact properly. Pressing the button will activate MSVC on the phone, and then then phone's mic/speaker take over. I don't have any redirected sounds to the headset. I have tried using the 1.5 registry hacks with 1.6 to no avail -- they actually disable the program -- which (fortunately) is completely reversible by undoing the hacks. Any ideas?
Guest leoiden Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 also avaialble for smartphone but ofcourse for 39.99
Guest adchaffey Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I have yet to figure out how to make my bluetooth headset interact properly. Anyone tried this on the Vario I?? Really want to know if it's worth the upgrade, but it certainly won't be if it doesn't work properly from my headset!
Guest felsteaduk Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I already have 1.5 for my old MDA can I transfer it to my new one and upgrade? When I tried to run the exec file it wanted to remove it form my computer? Do I first need to remove form the old pda while coinnected to my pc then swap pda's and run the exec file again, or do I have to buy it agan?
