Error Sending and Receiving MMS messages

Hi,

I'm having problems attempting to send and receiving MMS messages on my C600 phone. I've had the phone for a while now, and have only recently noticed problems.

When I attempt to send or receive a message I get the following error:

"Unable to receive your message(s). Your message(s) notification(s) will remain in the Inbox."

Then:

"There is not enough free space for message downloading. Please free up some space and try again."

Now, obviously from message like this I thought that I need to free up some space.

I've deleted pretty much everything on the phone itself and File Manager shows in the system info that I have:

Memory Information:

Storage memory: 16.95MB

Used: 14.88 MB

Free: 2.07 MB

Program memory: 45.06 MB

Used: 29.25 MB

Free: 15.80 MB

Flash Information:

Storage Card: 241.13 MB

Used: 72.81 MB

Free 168.31 MB

Given that the MMS message is 10k, I can't understand why it won't download.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks,

-Graham

Have a look in the Information section and check you have the correct settings.

http://www.modaco.com/Settings-by-Network-t200757.html

Also check with your network that you have MMS enabled on your account. It should be as standard now but in the past it was an option you had to enable if you wanted it.

My settings are correct to those listed (I originally looked at the wrong settings, but got the correct ones now).

Just seems to be a file access issue, but I have enough storage space free.

Hmmm....

Wondered if you had managed to get this sorted? Im having exactly the same problems. Orange have been totally useless. They insist my phone must be full. I have almost nothing stored on my phone, everything is on my storage card which has tons of space left.

Its getting really infuriating as I have several MMS on my phone I cant see.

Sadly I have still not got it sorted (to be honest I didn't bother ringing Orange as they have never been any good).

How many text messages are on your phone? I used to keep every message on there, I decided to delete all but the last few months worth and that didn't work. I'm tempted to delete more, but I don't think it will help.

If you find a solution I'll be very interested!

Thanks,

-Graham

Ive got 15 texts in my inbox, none in my sent or deleted folders. I have everything else humanly possible stored on the storage card. I have a 1GB card and 5.5MB clear on my phone but still cant open MMS. I object to having a feature on my phone which is impossible to use

I really wish Id kept my C550 now!!!!

Its a miracle but orange finally came good and fixed my MMS problem!!

The old IT favourite switch it off and back on. The guy I spoke to removed my MMS facility on my phone, phone had to then be switched off, battery removed for 20 secs then put back together. He then put it back on and again, phone off, battery out etc. Once it had rebooted it worked!! He sent a test which worked fine and Ive now had someone else send me a message which opened no problem AND I can send them :)
