screen is white-broken?

hi all...been a while now with this problem. My xda mini II only gives me a white screen. I can hear a startup chime, as if it is ready to be callibrated, but only a white screen shows. I have tried soft reset, bootloader, and even physcically resetting the screen under the case (warranty now void). This guy was bought in 2005, so the warranty was already dead...and it came from Asia (now i'm in California). Anyone deal with something like this before? If this is a physical breakdown of the screen, then i think i will sell it as scrap.

Have you tried re-seating the cable that joins the screen to the circuit board? If not, take it out, scrape the contacts gently with a curved blade and re-insert. Might be associated to previous water damage or fluff.

Have you previously tried to update the ROM?

If a flashing process goes wrong this can be one of the side effects.

If not, when you do the hard reset does anything appear on the screen or is it just white?

I would've thought you wouldn't get the startup chime sound if a flash had gone wrong but it is best to be sure I suppose before poking stuff.

Download and install the Windows Mobile Power Toys from the link below and run the ASRDisp app from the Program Files\Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys\ActiveSync_Remote_Display folder while your PPC is connected to your PC through Active Sync. If you see your mobile screen in the window then you have a screen hardware issue.
