Guest Pop2k Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Hi there, I'm currently owning a C600 and after 1 year of using it, I'm still not realy happy with it. Before that I had used an N-Gage for 2 years and tbh. I got a lot more pleasure out of that device, no matter it's many, various shortcomings. I use (or rather, would like to use) my phones primarily for multimedia (audio, video, ebooks), gaming (mostly SNES), calendar, notepad and of course calling and sms. Internet isn't on that list yet cos without WiFi it's barely affordable where I live. Photography is not on that list yet cos so far I still haven't seen any cameraphone that would do truly good pictures (personally I'm not impressed even by the SE K800i's picturequality). This is what my next phone must be like or have: - 8 way joystick OR a 4 way one that accepts multi-direction-pressing (unlike the C600 joystick that only has 4 ways and only allows one direction input at a time and thus makes gaming frustrating and basically impossible) - At least QVGA cos once you've been there, there's no going back to the old resolutions - Screen at least as large as the C600 one - Non-candybar design (cos I mainly play emu's and those only look good on landscape screens and holding candybars like that makes it painful to play with the keys on only one side, besides one hand then usualy covers a part of the screen) - Headphone jack (standard or mini, proprietary jacks only if the adapter comes with the phone) - Expansion slot and/or 4+GB internal memory As long as such a dreamdevice aint truly inexpensive, it better come with: - QWERTZ/QWERTY keyboard - WiFi And finally, a camera that doesn't make me wanna slap the developers like the C600 cam does. But this is realy just the final bonus, I can live with a cam free phone. So, you see, my expectations are fairly high. :D I've been looking at some phones already (TyTN, Q, i320, E70 aso.) but they all seem to lack an 8 way joystick and finding out if they'd be suitable for my gaming purposes isn't so easy cos I don't know if their joysticks would allow simultaneous multi direction presses or such. Well, maybe some of you can give me some input about what device might be right for me, I'd truly appreciate it. Thanks in advance! :)
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I've yet to find a PocketPC that is any good for gaming with the control pad etc. Stylus games are another matter though and this is where the Pocket PC comes into it's own.
Guest Pop2k Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 Thanks for the answer. PPC stylus games aint what I want my "mobile computer" for. Though a stylus would sure come handy for those SummVM powered Lucasarts adventures. So, my search continues. Hope dies last. :)
