MDA compact II software upgrade

hi.

i have done a hard reset on my compact II however it is missing the "extended ROM"

how would i install this please?

i cant link my phone to my computer but i have a card reader and CD card so can install cab files that way

is there an upgrade in cab format so i can install that way?

How do you know it's missing the Extended ROM, and why is it missing the Extended ROM?

You should be able to get the EXTROM back just by reflashing the latest update, which you can find here:

Are you sure it's missing and didn't simply fail to load? It might be worth trying a second hard reset.

ive tried hard resetting again - tried the clear storage aswell :S

just nothing

i presumed it was the extended as i had been looking through the archives fopr about 2 hours trying to find out what to do, rather than just simply post, i know how annoying it can be answering the same questions over and over again

Don't ever hesitate to ask in the Help & Advice section if you can't find your answer.

I'd go with Paul's suggestion and reflash with the latest rom, you might get a newer version of Windows Mobile 5 into the bargain if your device is running the original shipped rom...
