Guest Gakulu Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 Hi I have purchased a s310 and it arrived to day I needed to load my operator settings for vodaphone on it so copied the cab file that I had used on my imate sp5m but it would not as it did not have sufficient system permissions ???? for a cab file I have an application (that forwards sms's) where I needed to edit the registry (signed .. unsigned app etc settings as per "note") to get it to run so tried to install regeditSTG the s310 does not have zip on it so tried to copy the exe over and got a denied error message On contacting HTC was told to install a certificate for the app and use http://www.europe.htc.com/z/pdf/guides/SP_...cateInstall.cab and follow these instructions http://www.europe.htc.com/support/faq.html?id=510 - think there have gone off at a tangent regarding the certficate rather than the app is it not possible at all to install unsigned app ??? Any Help would be appreciated Thanks :-) XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Note edit reqired by regedit extracted from else where on Modaco XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 1:Application unlocking your phone: Your phone is application locked, meaning you can't install certain programs/games/tweaks. To unlock it, as well as for future tweaks, you'll need a Registry Editor to accomplish the task. Use Regedit STG (see below) because it's the trusted version of regedit from HTC. 1. Using Activesync Explorer, copy Regedit STG.zip to Downloads (or the folder of your choice) on the storage card. Then, using File Mangaer on your phone, browse to that folder and Unpack/Extract the contents of Regedit STG.zip. Create a new folder in the phone memory (not storage card) or just use "\My Documents" and move the Regedit.exe file to this folder. It does not seem to work when it's used straight from the miniSD card. 2. Start Regedit.exe and change the following registry keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies (then press "values")\ 00001001 = 2 -->Change the value data from 2 to 1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 16 --> Change the value data from 16 to 40 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001017 = 128 --> Change the value data from 128 to 144 That's it! If you had problems installing games/programs/tweaks that required you to application unlock your phone, you should be good nowSP_AllowCertificateInstall.cabregeditSTG.exe

Guest Garam Gujrati Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 hi, i tried watever was written here, but it doesn't seems to work. i don't know how to run the installed game now. is there any help. thank you.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 If a game has been installed then it should be in the Start/Programs/Games folder. If you have just copied a game across then you would need to explore the phone to the location you installed it to then run from there. What game or application are you trying to use? some .exe files need to be run on the pc with the phone connected via Activesync or Device Center. There are other exe files that are designed to run on the device as is, finally you have a .cab which needs to be copied to the device and run, it will then self extract and install.
