Media player problem

Using an SPV 3100M, when I get the media player to update the library it finds 29 files and then gets to 3/4 of the way "Adding" files and that's it, it never gets any further.

Please can anyone suggest what is wrong?

Update:

I a wait about ten mins it finishes. It appears to find the songs on the storage card, but they do not appear in the library. Media play does not show the storage card anymore. All other programs read the storage card fine?

have you restarted it? I had a problem with media player where I updated the library and it displayed two or 3 of the same songs when there were only one. restarted and it was fine.
