Guest SONY007 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Hi all, This is my first post here and i'm sure after reviewing some of the post on here it will not be my last. Judging by some of the comments and discussions i've read here already I am a newbie all over again ! :D What it is i've bought a vario 2 which is the NUTS :) by the way, thanks HTC, but my only concern well not a concern more of a requirement, is a proggy that can magnify the text in msn or any other app I need to read information which has been sent to me either by text , email. I am aware that you can increase the size of the text in the setting but that only affect the Today page by the looks of things. I was talking to my friend via msn on the vario and after reading a few of her replies the text got a little.. what's the word? ah yes BLURRED. Now I know you could say well it is meant to be a phone and but I was just wondering if there was such a program or even a setting on the phone that I might of over looked. Also when you use an application and you have to go into running program list, does the programs that are running drain out the battery, and if so is there a way to stop the programs once you click the x (close)? Oh yeah one more thing, SORRY... Is there a way to use the built in camera thats on the front as a webcam when your out and about (without the intervention of a laptop or desktop) just vario 2 ? PS: last thing, should I concider putting any security software on the phone to protect it ? if so any suggestion would be great ! Thanx in advance.

You'll need to install another task manager application. Magic button is free (see Paul's free software thread in the Hermes section) alternatively programs such as SBSH's ilauncher include it. Not that I know of - the only application I could find that uses the camera (coolcamera I think) wouldn't install on my PC but that's not quite what you are after by the sounds of it. PS: last thing, should I concider putting any security software on the phone to protect it ? if so any suggestion would be great ! Thanx in advance. There are various 'wallet' apps available for secure storage if that's what you're after. I simply use the built in PIN number lock. Sorry don't know about the text issue - changing the default settings only affects some programs.
Guest SONY007 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Cheers Rich, that magic button proggy sort be out a treat, now maybe I can save a bit more battery juice. Just tried to get a car charger for this phone from a view phone shops as well as trying to get the phone insured with 'PHONESAFE' I should of just stayed in a nd put my feet up, no shop including t-mobile had a in car charger for this phone and phonesaft will not insure this model of phone, so i'll to try another company this time round. Hmm, if there is anyone who might be able to help me with the magnifing text thingy....cheers

As to car chargers - people seem to rave over the Brodit mounts and chargers - should be available on-line easily enough. Sorry - still no answer on the text issue - but just a thought - have you tried it with cleartype both on and off.
Guest SONY007 Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Yes I tried it with clear type, it does help but to continuously read msn replies as well as text in emails take it toll on my eyes after a while. If I could increase the text by say x2 that would help.
